My journey started in Shanghai, where I designed graphics and digital news products. I was fascinated by the power of data visualization, its ability to translate large-scale datasets into engaging visuals. For example, using charts and illustrations to explain the transmission of COVID-19 to the public. I realized I’m not satisfied with just telling stories and informing people but also creating products that could directly serve people. During the lockdown, I designed and programmed a map application that helped 20 million people in Shanghai find available medical resources.

Journalism taught me how to listen, to ask the right questions in order to identify a need. User experience design led me to address pain points, to prototype solutions that make thoughts tangible. This is the foundation of being a human-centered product designer. I am always open to growing, adapting, and innovating.
